My name is Andrew Thelwell. As Interim Head of School at Beckfoot Oakbank for the remainder of the academic year I wanted to introduce myself.
I am immensely proud to have worked at this wonderful school for the last 6 years and was honoured to be offered the opportunity to take on the leadership of the school in January.
I want you to know what I stand for. I love this school. I love its burning ambition to become great. Its inclusive values and belief in the power of great comprehensive education to transform life chances. This belief is reflected in the School Motto: Enjoy, Learn and Succeed. We have an amazing team of dedicated professionals here who share my passion for the school, its values and its ambition. If you want to find out more about our beliefs and values then please take time to read our Strategic Vision.
We are fortunate to be a part of the Beckfoot Trust. An organisation totally aligned to our values, and one which is already having a significant impact in transforming schools in the Bradford district.
Our students always come first. We believe in them and know they can be successful. We care for our staff because we know that benefits the children. I want to further establish our partnership with parents as we know how critically important your role is in continuing to motivate, cajole and challenge your children to fulfil their immense potential.
We are also incredibly excited by the move into our new school in spring. It is an amazing building and will offer our students and staff so many new opportunities and an environment they can be immensely proud of. You can find out more about our new school on this website as well as keep up to date with all of the many opportunities that we provide for our students.
On a personal note I promise you that as Head of School I will lead by example and always be there for you should you wish to discuss any aspect of your child’s education. I am always at the end of a phone and I can be emailed at any time. Beckfoot Oakbank is on a journey to become a great school. I look forward to working with you.
