Heads Blog 26th January 2018

It has been a very busy couple of weeks since my last blog, and as ever there has been lots going on.

It was great to see so many of you at the Parent's Evening with lots of good positive feedback from parents. You will have met some of our students leaders, particularly our Head Girls and Boys on the evening. They do a fantastic job of representing the school as well as looking after parents and visitors. We are very proud of them.

Over the coming weeks we want to review the way that our Parents Evenings run. We have been using the same model for a number of years and would like to know how you think that these evenings could be improved. Over the next fortnight please email me any feedback or suggestions for improvement that you have based on your experiences. Simply email me via office@oakbank.org.uk. I may not be able to reply to every suggestion but I want to hear from as many parents as possible. It is important to us that we do all we can to make Parents Evenings work for you.

Given the recent snow it is timely that some of our students are taking skiing lessons at the Halifax Ski and Snowboard Centre in preparation for their ski trip to Austria during half term! We also held our information evening for the sixth form students who are coming to Rome with me from the 12th Feb. They can't wait to get to visit one of the greatest cities in the world and experience sights such as the Coliseum and the Vatican.

Finally I would also like to introduce you to the first Student Leadership Team blog. The student leaders in school all work very hard on their committees and as a team they want to keep you up to date with what is going on. You can find the new blog here.

We have lots more coming up in school, particularly exciting news about our move into our brand new school. I look forward to sharing it with you all over the next couple of weeks.

Thank you

Andrew
