The fantastic students of Beckfoot Oakbank helped the school achieve great Post-16 results again this year. 77.6% of all Y13 students achieved grades between A* and C, with 16 students achieving the top A* or Distinction* grade, 41 achieving an A grade or a Distinction and 47 gaining B grade or a Merit. The average grade for A level courses at a C and BTEC students achieving an average grade of a Merit +. Despite national changes to reform the A Level and Vocational qualifications our students continue to excel.
We are immensely proud of all our students, but would like to make a few special mentions: Lucy Fothergill, who leaves to study Maths at Lancaster University after achieving 1 A* and 2 A grades, Ffion Myers who gained 1 A*, 1 B and 1 C grade, and will be studying Civil Engineering at Nottingham University; Jahid Ali, who gained 1 A and 2 B grades and will be studying Optometry at Bradford University; Megan Haley, who is studying English Literature and History at Newcastle University after gaining 1 A*, 1 A and 1 B grade; Lauren Feather who achieved 1 A and 2 B grades and will study Psychology at Loughborough University; Jade Bairstow who achieved 1 A and 2 B grades and will study Civil Engineering at Newcastle University and Rezwan Ali, who achieved 1 A*, 1 A and 1 B grade, and is and is taking a gap year before pursuing a career in dentistry in the future.
